Role: Project Engineer – Interior Trim Location: Coventry (Travel required to other Midlands sites as and when required) INTRODUCTION The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with the Engineering Team, and supplier to integrate the interior into the Vehicles. Proven ability within an automotive engineering background with experience of successfully delivering projects in an OEM or Tier 1 capacity with responsibility of Cockpit, Cabin, and Interior Trim RESPONSIBILITIES * Co-ordination of issue management, ensuring that issues are managed through the triage process, issue owners are closing issues and raising containments where required in line with Programme timing requirements * Co-ordinate gateway inputs for the department in line with Programme timing requirements. Support the team leads to ensure submissions present an accurate Engineering status and are to the correct quality standard * Raise department Purchase Requests as and when appropriate. * Tracks spend versus allocated budget for the department, ensuring latest status is communicated * Work with team leads to create & maintain meaningful and clear KPIs relevant to the projects to drive the activities of the engineering team and to feed into the Programme team. * Co-ordinate and drive approvals required for change management and engineering sign off, including providing a look ahead for requirements versus relevant timing plans * Liaising with suppliers, and acting as a key interface to the company to report back any issues or concerns that may impact project. * Ensure legal compliance, in coordination with suppliers and Legislation and Homologation teams, for all systems for all regions where the vehicles are to be delivered. * Interface with other groups/teams (i.e., Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Body Structure, Exteriors, Closures). * Ensuring the accuracy of the BOM REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * Engineering degree or equivalent experience * Experience of Interior Trim within the Automotive industry * Good knowledge, and able to understand CAD (Catia V5) * Knowledge of Plastic moulding, soft trim technologies and joining methods would be advantageous * Technical whole-vehicle knowledge desirable * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience in an Automotive business is required * Ability to manage data and create KPIs **Sponsorship is not available so you must have the full right to work in the UK
