Derby | Project Engineer We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Derby manufacturing team. Salary💷 £35000 - £42000 per annum depending on experience Hours Monday – Thursday: 7.00am - 16.00pm Friday - 7.30am to 12.30pm Benefits * Competitive salary * Company pension scheme * 25 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays, Christmas shut down * BUPA Health care * Free onsite parking * Death in Service benefit * Long Service awards Purpose of role and accountabilities: To work on the NPI of Airbus Machining & Assy packages ensuring that Lean manufacturing techniques are utilised where possible. The role will involve Engineering planning / creation of route cards for new machined / fabricated & assembled detail parts. Planning lower-level details for manufacture through to assembly of large top level Parts, Understanding of customer Schedules & Boms essential. * New Product Introduction – Planning Methods of manufacture * Supporting all departments & trouble shooting Issues * Creation of Route cards & work instructions * Creating rework schemes & detailed planning for non-conforming product * Working with all departments to ensure the smooth industrialisation of new parts from quoting to manufacturing & Inspection. * Help with Implementation (planning) & prove out of new products. * Attending Weekly meetings & project reviews if req’d. Core skills/attributes needed: * Must have proven Engineering background Preferably in Aerospace * A Knowledge of Machining / forming & Assy Processors to enable detail routings to be created. * Must have Experience of planning & creating route cards / job cards. * Ability to read & Understand Engineering drawings essential. * Experience with Airbus specifications & processors essential. * Must have a can-do attitude & have a flexible approach to working. * Experience of NPI – fast paced working environment * Good Communication skills at all levels * Experienced in using Microsoft office tools. * Creating engineering routings for machined details & large assy’s for Airbus or similar * Must be able to read Airbus drawings / Boms & specifications (AIPI / AIPS) * Must be experienced with assy drawings & fastening techniques( Bolting / Riveting / ETB & Torque settings) * Paragon knowledge would be advantage ** The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business; Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards to provide a safe working environment for all Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure delivery of a ‘right first time’ performance Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets People: support organizational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community NOTE: Due to the nature of this role and the security requirements linked to projects with the UK Ministry of Defence, applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
