Role summary: Responsible for the technical support of the Military Aftermarket Operations and Prime Contractors. Including FPY analysis, resolution of Supply Chain issues, test failure resolution and system-level trouble shooting. This is an exciting opportunity for a technical minded individual to apply problem solving skills to technical issues experienced on the Wolverhampton MRO production line and preventing the delivery of repair and spare units to our customers. This role is critical to the business and extremely diverse, with a wide variety of products and technical challenges which require to be solved in a fast paced environment. It is also an opportunity for the right individual to make a visible and positive impact to Military Value Stream as the MRO and Spares activities are a significant source of revenue for the business. Principle Accountabilities: Working directly for the Aftermarket Engineering Manager, the MRO Operational Support Engineering Lead will provide the primary technical interface between MRO, Supply Chain and Engineering. This is both a practical and technically challenging role that will require good communication skills and the ability to make technical decision quickly. As the Military Aftermarket business grows, it may involve leading others and creating processes essential to Production Support. Key activities include: * Providing technical support to MRO and Supply Chain. * Monitoring of First Pass Yield results and providing front line assistance to test rig operators and fitters as necessary. * Support cost reduction activities and scrap reduction initiatives. * Providing assistance to Aftermarket & Supply Chain for concessions, development of Repair Schemes, and the use of Rotable Parts etc. * Training operators and technicians regarding fault diagnosis and rectification work * Driving initiatives to permanently rectify common failure modes * Providing assistance to Technical Publications Team to ensure accurate technical content of CMMs, SBs etc. * Signatory approval for Modifications, Repair Schemes and Concessions etc. Personal Characteristics: Preferably a mechanical or electrical engineering background with some or all of the following attributes:- * Degree or equivalent (preferably Mechanical Engineering) * Knowledge of Hydro-mechanical and Electro-mechanical systems and products * The ability to work independently and prioritise tasks. * Good communication skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels across the organisation. * The ability to resolve unit and system test issues * The ability to gain extensive knowledge of given projects * Good statistical and analytical skills * Ability to be able to represent the Company in technical reviews with customers * Understanding of ACE tools and how they apply to problem solving About Us Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
