PRODUCTION MANAGER - Derbyshire, Permanent Do you have supervisory or management experience within precision engineering environments? Do you possess knowledge of Machining or Fabrication? EMBS Engineering is working with a long-term partner who is in the market for a Production Manager to join their business on a permanent basis, located in Derby. The reason for the position is the previous Production Manager has moved to another role within the company, leaving a vacant space which presents a glorious opportunity for someone who has a passion for precision engineering, that possesses strong management experience (Senior Supervisor / Team Leader / Chargehand will be considered), with machining and/or fabrication knowledge. The company is a globally recognised, market leader in their space and works out of a purpose-built, modern facility which houses state of the art equipment. They specialise in the manufacture of small to medium, complex, sub-assembly, detailed components, primarily for the aerospace industry. The successful individual will report to the Operations Director and will be responsible for the x4 directs (Senior Team Leaders) and circa 50 in-directs. The purpose of this position is to lead the production facility by meeting and exceeding its customer requirements on quality, cost, and delivery. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; Safety: Work to and promote company policies, procedures and Health, Safety & Environmental standards including IS(phone number removed), 45001 and 50001, to promote a strong HS&E culture and provide a healthy and secure working environment for all  Work in conjunction with the wider site team to reduce the number of accidents, near misses and environmental hazards utilising 6S principles managing HS&E proactively and effectively Support legislative site audits and site action plans to drive improved safety standards and continuous improvement performance throughout the business Quality: To develop a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace, ensuring that quality standards and procedures are observed and always maintained Ensure the business has effective processes and controls in place, in order that the business achieves the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction, including a reduction in PPM, scrap waste and material usage savings Ensure effective feedback loops to the shop floor for internal and external quality concerns/issues Cost: Ensure that accountable teams are achieving set productivity and efficiency KPI’s To work within cross-functional teams to support business development, growth and improvement projects as required, and lead the facility in meeting and exceeding customer requirements - 99% OTIF Delivery: To work within cross-functional teams to support business development, growth and improvement projects as required, and lead the facility in meeting and exceeding customer requirements- 99% OTIF Drive improvement in delivery performance through continuous improvement measures, to exceed customer expectations and targets People: Enhance organisational capability and personal development through the training and upskilling of employees, including supporting the sites recruitment and training strategy and training matrix To create a climate where workplace relationships are favourable, through appropriate leadership style and effective communication.
