Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar. What will I be doing? This is a challenging and multi-faceted role where you will be coordinating and managing the tactical delivery of the Overhaul Production Plan for A320F, B737NG, Military Landing Gears & overhaul hydraulics. You will have direct people, plant and process responsibilities for Plating activities (chrome, nickel, cadmium), Heat Treatment, Grinding, Bushing and Paint. You will set the pace by completing activities for A320 products and will make optimum use of the resources available to ensure optimum workflow. You should have a strong technical background and be able to demonstrate a structured approach to production planning and people management activites. *Collaborate with the other Gate Managers in the creation and maintenance of a Master Production Schedule (MPS). Use the MPS to optimise production and plant utilisation, identifying and alleviating bottlenecks, anticipating needs and ultimately delivering the plan. *Participate fully in MPS and Production Activity Control (PAC) meetings and revise schedules through agreement with relevant stakeholders. *Support the control of working capital (incl Budget), ensuring it is optimised at all times (shift planning). Track performance (average hours) monthly at the work centre level. *Lead and organise your team in the lean and efficient delivery of customer value whilst ensuring SLS MRO business plans and needs are met. *Work with peers to ensure optimisation and utilisation of equipment and resources. *Support agreed business opportunities to increase added value for customers (used material). *Continue the excellent progress made in relation to internal Quality and support weekly reviews and action completion. *Continually strive to enhance individual and team effectiveness through the support of people development and managerial activities. General expectations relating to performance management and support of leadership and development initiatives. What do you need from me? *An aerospace and engineering background is highly desired. *Financially and commercially aware. *Experience of leading/managing teams. *A strong working knowledge of lean principles, to Green Belt level, with demonstrated deployment to leverage continuous improvement within a defined area of control. *Familiarity of 8D and QRQC tools would be advantageous. *Comprehensive job knowledge associated to relevant methodologies or best practices and compliance requirements. *Ability to portray full endorsement of business goals and objectives. *Capable of interpreting and communicating KPI's and developing appropriate actions. *A flexible approach with ability to adapt to different working environments. *A keenly developed sense of right first time attitude towards quality. *Effective people development, leadership, coaching and team development skills. *High levels of 'change energy' and demonstrated motivation towards change implementation. *Strong and effective delegation skills. *Effective communication and relationship building skills throughout all levels of the business. *Good listening and interpersonal skills. *Well organised, time management is key to this role in conjunction with excellent organisation skills. *Self-motivated with a proactive working style.
