Position Overview: Potting & Encapsulation Technician We are seeking a skilled Potting & Encapsulation Technician to join our team on a 12-month contract with the potential for extension. This role involves preparing, applying, curing, and inspecting encapsulation and potting compounds to secure and insulate electronic components. The ideal candidate will have technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities Material Preparation: Mix and handle encapsulation and potting compounds, ensuring they meet consistency and quality standards. Application: Use tools to manually pour or inject materials around electronic parts or into mold cavities, filling any gaps to secure and insulate components. Curing and Finishing: Allow materials to set and solidify, often under controlled temperatures, to ensure quality and durability. Inspection and Testing: Check encapsulated parts for air bubbles, voids, or defects to maintain high performance standards. Safety Compliance: Handle potentially hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols to prevent contamination or damage to sensitive electronics.Required Skills Technical Knowledge of Potting and Encapsulation Materials: Familiarity with resins, silicones, and epoxies is desirable but not essential. Basic Electronics Understanding: Ability to work carefully around sensitive electronic components. Equipment Handling: Experience with dispensing machines, curing ovens, and other tools used for encapsulation processes. Quality Control: Ability to conduct thorough inspections, identifying air bubbles, gaps, and imperfections. Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure consistency and quality in every step of the encapsulation process.Contract Details Contract Length: 12 months, with the possibility of extension beyond December 2025. Core Working Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am - 4:15 pm Friday: 7:30 am - 11:30 am Starting Rates: PAYE Rate (excluding holiday pay): £16.28 per hour (plus up to 33 days paid annual leave) PAYE Rate (including holiday pay): £18.65 per hour Overtime: Time and a half for hours over 37 per week; double time on SundaysAfter 12 Weeks: PAYE Rate (excluding holiday pay): £16.77 per hour PAYE Rate (including holiday pay): £19.21 per hour Overtime: Time and a half for hours over 37 per week; double time on Sundays Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK freely
