Manufacturing engineer to work as part of a team to design, install, monitor and develop manufacturing processes, systems & equipment within the factory environment. Must be able to calculate yield calculations. Knowledge of noise vibraton also desirable but not essential. Key Tasks: - * Costing & yielding (NPI) 70% of this roll * (Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability * Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other departments & disciplines * Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs * Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers * Making sure a product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments * Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques * Manning and designing new production processes * Producing details of specifications and outline designs * Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical modeling and computer-aided design * Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints * Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector * Monitoring and commissioning plant and systems * Taking responsibility for individual projects, managing associated budgets, production schedules and resources * Designing, developing and installing plant control systems * Liaising with designers, researchers and engineering consultants inter group * Attending production meetings and forecasting production requirements * Coaching and mentoring subordinates * Calculating production costs that include equipment, time and labor * Monitor the effectiveness of the current OEE system QUALIFICATIONS Ideally degree qualified - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Materials Engineering. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly lines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Eye for detail Fluency in written and spoken English. Design Lean Six Sigma concepts, evaluate and implement existing concepts, or introduce best-in-class manufacturing techniques
