Our Prestigious Automotive Client is looking for a Principal Interior Designer to join their Design, Development and Engineering Centre based in Shalford. As the Principal Interior designer, you're entrusted with leading development of 2D and 3D designs in line with our Client’s design principles. As a senior member of the Creative Team, you're instrumental in innovating and guiding the direction of the Client interiors. As part of the compact, fully digital team, you're deeply involved in the dynamic design programs from day one, actively shaping core products. Please feel free to contact us to gain a better understanding of what this means for you. Responsibilities: Lead development of engaging and innovative 2D and 3D interior design proposals. Lead development of 3D data through clear direction to our experienced digital surfacing team. Work closely with the engineering dept and suppliers to deliver production feasible interiors. Ensure timely completion of all design milestones, encompassing internal and external releases and gateways. Assist designers within the studio with their knowledge and development. Attend program and engineering reviews as the key representative of interior design team. Assist development of brand/design guidelines. Plan design studio interior work and delivery in line with program delivery. Communicate progress and critical issues to Head of Design. To perform any other duties that may well be reasonably expected within the remit of the role. To ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy requirements within areas of responsibility. In addition to the above responsibilities the job also involves similar duties to be conducted for any future subsidiary companies within the Client Group. Requirements: 5 years+ experience within a design studio environment. Proven track record of delivering production vehicle interiors (sportscars preferential). BA or MA in Automotive Design or Industrial design. Exceptional ability to interpret and translate concepts seamlessly from 2D to 3D. Self-driven and hands-on with the desire to help with tasks outside your remit to assist the team. Excellent communication and strong presentation skills both verbally and visually.
