About the Role Our customer is undergoing a major transformation to electrify the powertrains of passenger cars. The UK R&D Centre is at the forefront of this work to develop the future generation of electrified, connected, and intelligent powertrains. We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer – Power Electronics Systems Engineering to join us. Requirements * Five to ten years experience is required and preferably some of this will be in automotive. * Deep experience of Power Electronics ideally including Automotive Inverters. * Knowledge of power electronic devices and how they are integrated into the HV electrical system; * Experience of working with teams of engineers designing and testing power electronics Duties & Responsibilities * Lead the capture of requirements and support the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems * Lead/support the testing of power electronics hardware and software * Support the development of electrical and electronics architecture for e-drive applications including HV harness and connectors schematics * Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities * Ensure compliance with relevant EMC/EMI standards Other: * Role based in UK.- occasional travel to other sites including worldwide on development trips and to visit suppliers is a requirement. * Must be eligible to work in the UK with permanent visa or residence (candidates requiring visa sponsorship cannot be accepted for this role)
