Press Maintenance Technician Wolverhampton £58,990 per annum - 4 on 4 off (inc shift allowance) - aim is to stay on Continental shift pattern, but may revert to 3 shift + overtime + package   Get skilled across the full kit of modern stamping tech - robotics, lasers, hydraulics and more - with hands-on training that keeps you sharp and in demand.   You’ll work on some of the most advanced metal pressing systems in the automotive world, learning how to fix and maintain hot and cold stamp presses, lasers, patch cells and automation. With expert support and ongoing development, you’ll build a toolkit that future-proofs your career.   This is also a chance to work on cutting-edge processes that shape the future of lighter, safer vehicles. You’ll be involved in maintaining and improving systems that reduce environmental impact and enhance vehicle performance.   What you’ll do   You’ll take ownership of maintaining and repairing stamping technology, ensuring peak performance and minimal downtime. Tackle complex faults across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including advanced automation and robotics.   Carry out preventative maintenance on high-tech equipment, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently. Use your expertise to improve processes and support the development of next-gen stamping solutions.   What you’ll need An apprenticeship in mechanical and electrical engineering (multi-skilled) PUWER (Press Regs) certification and experience with standard repair equipment like lathes, millers, shapers and hand tools Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, plus hands-on experience with stamping presses or similar industrial equipment Press maintenance is key – you’ll be mechanically biased with heavy machinery or multi-skilled on similar heavy machinery Relevant Electrical Installations Qualification 18th Edition Regulations (Desirable) HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Desirable)   About the company   This company designs and manufactures metal components for the automotive industry, focusing on innovative products that make vehicles safer, lighter and more efficient.
