This position is based at our Stafford facility and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our 5000 Series diesel products. Role Purpose: As a Diesel Engine Performance Engineer, you'll be responsible for planning and executing engineering activities essential to product development. Your work will include engine performance calibration, data analysis, root cause investigation, and implementing corrective actions. The role involves diverse projects within a collaborative, multi-skilled team and may require occasional international travel. Key Responsibilities: Perform diesel engine performance and emissions calibration Conduct mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems Develop and oversee component validation plans Coordinate daily engineering tasks and manage test and analysis activities Resolve defects and conduct failure analysis using industry-standard methods Prepare and present technical reports Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures Support the design function, including participation in FMEA reviews Collaborate with platform teams in Stafford and other global locationsKey Competencies: Expertise in diesel engine performance and emissions calibration Strong skills in data analysis and technical reporting Focus on quality and attention to detail Effective decision-making and project leadership Strong planning, organising, and teamwork abilities Excellent communication and presentation skillsQualifications, Skills & Experience: Essential: Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience Experience in engine performance, emissions calibration, data analysis, and reporting Knowledge of emissions measurement techniques, global emission regulations, and emissions hardware Familiarity with control system development, fuel system optimisation, and turbocharger matching Proficient in MS Office with strong technical writing skills Knowledge of industrial diesel engine systems (cooling, lubrication, air systems, etc.)Desirable: Experience with CANAPE and Osiris high-speed data capture toolsThis role is perfect for a skilled engineer ready to make an impact in diesel engine performance engineering.
