PC&L Manager - Automotive Manufacturing Competitive Salary on Offer Birmingham --- MDE are recruiting for an experienced PC&L Manager to join a thriving manufacturing business in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have experience of Materials, Warehousing and Logistics Management within an automotive manufacturing setting, including 3PL Management. Main Role Duties / Scope: To manage resource in order to control the warehouse and material flow functions with participation and commitment from all areas of the business. Maintain 100% OTIF to customers. To manage all freight, both internal and external, including any specials required. To oversee waste management to ensure segregation and maximise recycling potential. To support in NPI activities. To support production teams with correct supply and flow of materials/stillages. To manage all MHE/LGV's on site, costs, monitor utilisation, impact data and driver performance. To manage inventory levels across the sites, whilst ensuring a seamless supply to manufacturing. Responsible for all racking across the plant, ensuring its compliant within SEMA regulations. To identify and implement cost reduction opportunities. Implement and control visual management for all Material movements. Create a worldclass working environment including all warehouse, yard and WIP areas. Attend daily/Weekly meetings as required. Support all company stock take requirements. Provide effective management, mentoring and development of the Logistics Team to develop a high-performance culture by championing best practices and professional development. Have ownership of the company's Logistics processes, ensuring the resources provided for each project are identified and planned for in good time and the processes provide for the efficient and timely delivery of information. Manage workloads across the department to ensure colleagues are properly supported, especially at busy times or during periods of annual leave. Maintain strong relationships across other departments to ensure resource needs are identified for each project and any change of requirements are communicated immediately. Manage internal logistics IT systems/databases and ensure all key documentation. Maintain close working relationships with Projects team to ensure accurate information is communicated in good time. Undertake any duties of the Logistics Team, in order to provide support in busy periods or to cover periods of annual leave. Ensure provision of appropriate learning, development and mentoring support and an established training plan and progress review structure is in place for individual persons and the team as a whole. Develop a committed and focused team with individuals who are energised and motivated to perform to a consistently high standard to include managing and mentoring junior team members. Person Specification and Required Skills The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal and written and feel comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the business and with customers. Advance computer skills in Microsoft Office particularly Excel. Previous experience of managing Warehouses and Material Flow Knowledge and experience of racking/storage systems Experience of managing MHE/LGV fleets Use of integrated MRP /ERP system Excellent communication skills across all levels both verbal and written Experience of working in a high-volume manufacturing environmental Proven experiences of working in a busy customer services department Previous automotive experience or tier 1 exposure is essential Please note all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
