Position Overview: Packaging Engineer Job Purpose: Oversee the end-to-end management of packaging projects, ensuring efficient relationships with suppliers, quality assurance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business goals while demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of business processes and driving continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: * Manage relationships with packaging suppliers. * Lead packaging projects from concept to implementation. * Assess packaging and process flow impacts and capabilities. * Resolve Packaging Quality queries. * Support supplier selection processes. * Conduct Value Chain Mapping and develop business cases. * Calculate internal and external costs contributing to Total Acquisition Costs. * Implement packaging solutions with minimal business impact. * Coordinate with internal stakeholders. * Track packaging projects and meet targets. * Monitor and report on packaging performance metrics. * Attend department, project, or management meetings. * Design processes, work instructions, and operational procedures. * Manage and implement changes. * Demonstrate holistic business understanding. * Own and be accountable for KPIs and projects. Essential Skills: * Effective communicator. * Familiarity with operations and driving operational excellence. * Track record of change delivery. * Experience in value creation and value chain improvements. * Knowledge and application of lean principles. * Strong problem-solving skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * Methodical approach. * Commitment to continuous improvement. Desirable: * ONC or above in Engineering / Supply Chain. * Familiarity with AutoCAD, Teamcenter, and other drawing packages. * Experience in Automotive supply chain or manufacturing environments. * Relevant Certifications and Professional Memberships. * Multilingual proficiency.
