Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking an experienced Outbound Logistics Controller to join their highly successful team with immediate effect on a Contract basis (Inside IR35) for a period of 6 months initially, with a high likelihood of this being extended at the end of the term. On offer to the successful candidate is a competitive, albeit negotiable hourly rate, albeit based on relevant experience. As the Outbound Logistics Controller, you will be responsible for the movement of all finished goods from the factory to world dealers delivering OTIF with no transit quality issues and in line with the contract SLA's, process and budget. Essentially your focus is on providing a service matching of their ultra-luxury brand. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Managing logistics providers to deliver cars from factory out to dealers within contract SLAs. Ensuring future capacity based on PTS forecast covering next 3 months detail and 18 months forecast. Work closely with sales operations and production to ensure the right cars are distributed to support wholesales, retails and customer expectations. Managing premium freight activities for the outbound team. Manage special projects vehicle distribution. Close working with offshore VPC centres. Ensure timely clearance of cars through customs and in line with SLAs. Ensure document retention periods clear and adhered to through monthly audits of paperwork. Audit - process go look see - car management, loading & unloading, communication standards, dealer experience. Data quality management - ensure systems are kept up to date with a focus on live accurate reporting. Managing transit claims and delivery quality with the claims management team. Respond to internal EPDR's and working closely with Aftersales and regional teams to ensure the correct service levels are maintained. Lead daily / weekly operational reviews with clear minuted output. To own and report operational metrics weekly to demonstrate performance adherence. Managing loading trials of new products & process and feedback into NML process to ensure outbound operations catered for within the launch process. Managing costs to budget, PCR coverage and invoices processing in a timely manner. Own processes which cover Outbound Logistics (both company and Logistics provider) with a CI mindset. Support sustainability (racing green).You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should have a good level of education, ideally Degree qualified, but plenty of relevant experience will also be considered. Should be an experienced Outbound Logistics Controller with strong import / export knowledge, ideally in the Automotive industry with the ability to manage logistics providers to deliver cars to Dealers worldwide. You will be a highly numerical person with great attention to detail. Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure. A high degree of MS Office knowledge is essential (with emphasis on Excel).It’s great if you also have the following: An awareness of Production System / Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage, but this is not essential.This position is available with immediate effect.
