Due to retirement, Applus+ UK are recruiting the key position of Aviation Operations Manager who will be based from Luton office. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be passionate about building strong working relationships with new and existing clients and colleagues alike. You will be an experienced operations manager ideally with extensive knowledge of the NDT/Inspection industry. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities of a Aviation Operations Manager: * Responsible for the operational management of inspection activities of the Aviation department * Leading/assisting during external audits from customers/regulatory authorities. * Marketing inspection services, making proposals and tendering for new inspection business within agreed levels outlined in the management system. * Maintenance of inspection capability and resources in accordance with the Company's policies, standards, and procedures. * Co-ordination and execution of activities in accordance with approved procedures for the Inspection services ensuring that the quality system is adhered to on a day-to-day basis. * Providing support to other Company geographical locations with personnel and/or equipment when required. * Accountable for the financial performance of allocated projects and control to ensure they meets sales, budget, and profitability targets. * Maintaining copies of all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality documents, and procedures. * Identification and reporting of any non-conformance in the quality system and execution of corrective and preventative action ensuring they are up to date. * Acting as part of the NDT management team, participating in meetings and agreeing, controlling, and developing NDT activities and meeting agreed actions. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience required for an Aviation Operations Manager: * Understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards. * Knowledge of regulatory requirements for EASA 145, CAA UK and FAA. * Proven track record of career within a NADCAP approved facility. * NDT Qualifications in PT,ET & UT (current or lapsed). Experience with “on-wing” inspection would also be beneficial.
