Nacelle Stress Engineer Structural & Acoustic Analysis- China. Our Aerospace client based in Shanghai, China, are looking to appoint a Nacelle Stress Engineer to be engaged on Structural & Acoustic Analysis on their Civil Aero Engines in Shanghai. This will be a long term role. Fixed term contracts will be offered to the successful candidate. Job Description: The Nacelle Stress Engineer will focus on the structural strength analysis, airworthiness compliance, and acoustic lining development of nacelle systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring safety, reliability, and performance of nacelle structures in civil aero engines. Key Responsibilities: Perform static, fatigue, and vibration strength analysis of nacelle structures; produce technical reports and documentation. Conduct airworthiness compliance verification and define structural strength requirements. Support trial production and quality assessment of nacelle parts and assemblies. Assist in nacelle assembly and commissioning activities. Plan and execute structural testing, including test piece design and test promotion. Establish and improve nacelle strength systems, including design standards, CAE processes, calibration, and structural methods. Lead strength evaluation of advanced acoustic linings: CMC, metamorphic, nonlinear thermoplastic materials. Analyse test data, summarize findings, and guide design improvements for nacelle acoustic linings. Develop and apply model verification and correction methods based on test results. Contribute to structural analysis standards and acoustic lining regulations. Summarize technical experience and support academic and internal training activities.Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor's considered for exceptional candidates in: Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Design, Aero Engines, or Gas Turbines. Strong knowledge of: Material mechanics, vibration dynamics, structural mechanics, fatigue/vibration testing, thermoplastic and CMC materials. Proficient in at least one FEA tool: ANSYS, HyperMesh, CATIA, UG, Nastran, Patran, PRO/E, etc. Programming or software secondary development ability is an advantage. Strong technical writing and documentation skills; experience presenting in academic or technical settings is preferred. Practical engineering experience with aerospace research institutes or maintenance plants is strongly valued. Experience in managing acoustic lining design and soundproofing optimization is preferred. Preferred Background: Ideal candidates will come from top aviation organizations within Aero Engines or Nacelle development, or other major Chinese aero organisations.Candidates must have a background in aerospace structural design, airworthiness compliance, and acoustic nacelle component development.
