Mobile Vehicle Technician (Field Service Engineer) Job ID: 32415 Monday to Friday Flexibility needed for start times but will lead to earlier finishes £35,000 - £45,000 + VAN + Bonuses. Working out of Crawley Depot Our client is a leading supplier of service vehicles offering innovative alterative propulsions/fuel technology such as EV. They are growing rapidly and are looking for an additional engineer to join the team. Machines are mainly battery powered but there are some petrol and diesel machines in the mix. It will be necessary for the applicant to have had some previous experience in combustion engines and battery technology/can-bus systems, an existing forklift/road sweeper/plant equipment or bus engineer would be ideally suited to the role. The engineer will need to be self-motivated and responsible for accurate reporting and communication with clients whilst on site to resolve issues, all engineer reports to be filled in for client records and images taken and recorded. The role Carrying out routine servicing and repairs and maintenance, respond to breakdown callouts as required, mostly out in the field. There would be some equipment repaired in house at times. We reckon that the job role will be 70-80% out on site and the rest at depot. Must have skills for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role: * Electrical/Mechanical vehicle maintenance experience * Service and repair experience on utility/service vehicles or similar. * Knowledge of Canbus or similar * Ability to work independently. Standard hours would be 07:00 to 16:30 but there would be a requirement to be flexible on start and finish times as needed to get machinery repairs completed. Occasional overnight stay will be necessary on longer distance routes. A van would be provided loaded with a selection of spare parts needed for the machinery, the engineer will need to be responsible for stock control and replenishment.
