Our client is an industry leading manufacturer of tail lifts. They are looking for either an experienced Tail Lift Fitter, or for someone to be trained as a Mobile Tail Lift Fitter. This job would suit someone with previous experience in a similar job such as Field Service Engineer / Auto Electrician / Vehicle Mechanic / Coach Builder / Vehicle Assembler / Mechanical Fitter / Mobile Service Engineer, or someone mechanically minded from the Automotive industry (with some knowledge of vehicle electrics). Once trained, you will be based at the workshop (approximately 50% of the time) and also be required to visit customers to provide lift installation to vehicles, and also service/repair lifts at their customer sites across the UK. A company van is provided once fully trained. * PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE A BACKGROUND OF WORKING WITH MOTOR VEHICLES, AND UNDERSTAND VEHICLE ELECTRICS * Hours of work: Typically 7:30 – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, but will be flexible to suit customers’ requirements. Salary up to £35k depending on experience / Company Van + Fuel card (ONCE FULLY TRAINED) / Laptop / Tools / Mobile Phone / 30 days holiday The workshop is a busy vehicle coach building factory installing modular wheelchair lifts to vans, mini and midi buses. The lifts are provided completely assembled, your task is to install voltage cables and handset wirings, bolt the lift cassette to the underside of the chassis, fully weight test the lift, and finally adjust to ensure correct installation. In addition to lift installation, you will also be tasked with providing lift service and breakdown cover at client sites across the UK. Responsibilities: • Collect lift kit from goods in, and inspect all parts. • Liaise with workshop staff to schedule correct vehicles in which order. • Install battery cable to power the lift. • Complete lift installation (install voltage cables and handset wirings, bolt the lift cassette to the underside of the chassis). • Adjust and set the lift correctly to vehicle. • Weight test the lift and LOLER certify. • Service and maintain lifts on behalf of the Company. • Keep all records and provide copies to main factory. Requirements: • Previous experience as an Automotive Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic / Auto Electrician / Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Engineer / Mobile Lift Installer / Field Service Installation Technician / Vehicle Assembly Operative / or similar motor vehicle / automotive industry role. • Knowledge of basic vehicle electrics. • Must be self-motivated. • Have excellent communication skills. • Full UK driving license. • You are happy to drive to customer sites across the UK to carry out installations and maintenance
