The Mechanical Team Lead Base Maintenance will be responsible for Aircraft Mechanical Production and Supervision within the Base and MRO environment including aircraft scheduled maintenance servicing. They are responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with all the requirements of the regulatory approval and the issued Statement of Work/Condition of Supply to assure the output of airworthy aircraft and components. The role will involve supervision of a team of mechanical technicians and the candidate will be able to evaluate and prioritise tasks to ensure production schedules are achieved. Core Duties Performance indicators – Provide effective maintenance to activities by meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress and reporting any impact on continuing airworthiness. Identify any issues and escalate as appropriate. Completion of activities – Ensure all maintenance activities as tasked in the Statement of Work/Condition of Supply are appropriately documented and maintenance records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Provide support and guidance to team, and compile appropriate reporting, identify any issues, resolve or and escalate as appropriate. Procedure/standards – Comply with the MAI MOE, its associated procedures and standards, and any other Company procedures and standards. At this level would be expected to agree and enact change as required. Safety Management System – Understand and apply human factors, error management, risk and safety management, within maintenance, together with an awareness of preventative and predictive maintenance practices. Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality) – Ensure activities are compliant with the Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (CAA) Management system, in conjunction with the Maintenance Governance and Assurance framework. Support any audits and respond to findings in a timely manner. Statutory / Regulatory & Legislation requirements – Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding and application of the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework, i.e. MRP 4000 Series and ensure the organisation is advised of any changes; Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR/E&PW/SHE. Contractual Requirements – Ensure the awareness of all applicable contractual requirements and incorporate any changes into activities as appropriate. Deliverables Maintaining airworthiness by ensuring that all contracted maintenance has been properly carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements as defined within the Maintenance Organisation Exposition. Certifying the serviceability (or otherwise) of an aircraft component and the issue of appropriate certifying documentation. Responsible for ensuring robust adherence to the Service Safety Hazard controls relating to the contributory causes to the output of incorrectly/incompletely maintained components. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to senior management and internal/external customers. Applying the relevant analytical skills for the tactical evaluation and resolution of operational problems, utilizing the required competent personnel and the appropriate approved data. Ensuring scheduled adherence of the Base Maintenance operation and the requirement to report on any impact to the wider programme. Identifying and managing with appropriate stakeholders all dependencies which enable the successful completion of component maintenance activities. Support the management of shift and resource plans to ensure agreed delivery targets can be accomplished within the requirements of the regulatory framework by ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them within the shift plan. Experience Experienced and competent people manager and leader at this level. Requires broad and in-depth product knowledge, expert competence within own technical/subject area and an understanding of the relationship with interfacing/ contributory areas, management of external dependencies appropriate to the role. A thorough knowledge of maintenance activities conducted with the MRP Part 145 regulatory framework is required. An ability to make safety/compliance versus delivery output decisions as appropriate. Requirements Qualifications Recognised degree or equivalent /or Minimum 2 years aircraft experience in an AMO environment. Qualifications: C&G 2661 / 2675 and NVQ Level 3 Aeronautical Eng. or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years aircraft experience in self certifying position, or Military equivalent qualifications.
