Experience gained in the Automotive or a related industry would be an advantage.as would extensive experience of working with Customers on new Projects Mechanical Design Engineer will support of the company's Product Design and Development System. The experienced Mechanical Design Engineer will provide the Technical Manager with support when requested concerning all aspects of the Product Design and Development activity the Manager deems the Design Engineer is qualified to undertake, Compilation and preparation of Technical designs associated with the companies products You will have gained over three years experience in a similar permanent role and have te permanent right to work in the UK You must have the legal right to work in the UK without company sponsorship. Strong Mechanical Product Design experience is essential. and you will currently being living in or near South Wales and have a minimum of 4 years Design Engineering experience whilst working for an Engineering or Manufacturing organisation * Compile and the issuance of Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) in line with the companies published QMS procedures. * Coordinate the collection of data associated with Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) in line with the companies published QMS procedures - (Windchill). The coordination of ECN’s will be responsibility of the Engineering Administrator and therefore the Design/ Project Engineer will liaise and direct the Engineering Administrator has he/she feels appropriate to ensure a timely and effective process. * Engineering bill of materials compilation and Product structure bill of materials (Fourth Shift) maintenance, in line with the companies MRP system requirements. * Representing Engineering department in specific NPI activities as assigned by the Technical Manager of which will include attendance of meetings, recording and reporting Engineering Actions and their time lines in support of Product Design Engineering projects. * Key responsibilities will include the professional liaison with customers and suppliers in support of Technical issues related to the companies current products and the evolvement of new product designs and its development. * The Design Engineer will also provide a timely response to interdepartmental and inter * Company requests as assigned. * This list is not exhaustive and at times you may be required to carry out duties not specified Flexibility is required in terms of working hours as business demands can often change at the last minute.
