A Material Planning Analyst is required on a contract basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business. Are you experienced in Demand and orders scheduling? As D&O Scheduling Analyst, you will create production schedules in line with the Facility Master Schedule taking into consideration factory capacity, customer requirements and material availability Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Demand & Orders Analyst Supports the Global S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) Responsible for preparing factory schedules to fulfil requirements Customers Creation of daily build schedules in sequence to support Customer Ship Date at >95% using lean principles including Built in Quality (BIQ) Monitor the production plan and modify as required to maintain acceptable levels of product availability and inventory in line with capacity and capability and manufacturing guidelines Supports data gathering to provide availability analysis, demand management, special order programs, responding to critical deals, quoting delivery for large projects, etc. Helps prepare scheduling proposals to accommodate special situations such as reviewing costs, carrying inventory, abnormal demand, supplier failure Collate and report on weekly production status reports, past dues, forward orders, lead times. Collate and report on weekly and monthly metrics with regards to Production Schedule adherence, Customer Ship Date, start on line and ready to ship performance. Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Product Configuration, material planning and purchasing when required to secure orders with availability challenges Collaborate with engineering on New Product Introduction Material Planning Analyst Exception Management - ensuring that all supplier schedules are kept up to date and accurate, working on any grief generated, initiating pull forward or deferral requests as necessary Inbound Shipment Tracking & Supplier Ship Performance - Monitoring and taking action when it falls below acceptable standards, working to root cause any supplier issues that may be affecting output Supplier Collaborations - through use of our online collaboration tool, ensuring absolute accuracy in the data and management of any grief generated Backorder Management / Shortage Analysis Past Due Management Inbound Premium Freight Management Production Withdrawal - Requesting materials from parts depots around the world or other CAT facilities to cover production need when required Qualifications - Internal Required Qualifications: * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work in fast paced environment with demanding deadlines * College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, which should include: - working with lead times - customer ship dates * Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization and communication skills Desired Qualifications: * Experience in production scheduling * APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification * Familiarity with company manufacturing facilities, equipment and processes This is an awesome opportunity to be part of a leading manufacturing business which offers an interesting, varied and exciting workload coupled with a motivated and passionate culture.
