Manufacturing Technician • Basic rate of £10.12 per hour • 40 hours per week (Basic) (Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30) • Potential overtime (paid at enhanced rate) • Profit related bonus • 25 days holiday (increases with service, up to 30 days), plus bank holidays. • Health and dental care cover • Contributory pension • Life insurance scheme 1 Overview To perform a range of manufacturing / production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics / materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, welding, fitting / fabrication, service / maintenance and development). 2 Relationships: Responsible to: Team / Cell Leaders (Operations / Production / Line Manager). Liaison with: Logistics Controller, Quality Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Purchasing, Materials, Service, Sales, Design / Engineering, Development Engineers, Suppliers, Customers 3 Main Tasks Efficient and correct to specification Mechanical assembly, hydraulic installation, electrical wiring, and fabrication / fitting operations, linked to the manufacture, service and repair of access platforms. Competent build inspection of all stages and materials used. Full compliance with ISO 18001 procedures, and total quality focus throughout all direct / indirect stages of manufacturing process to achieve a quality product aligned to the customer’s specification / expectations. Effective and efficient value added organisation and control of all allocated operations. Full flexibility, including being training and training others to enable all manufacturing operations by all to be completed across the company. Compliance with health and safety standards, flexibility, and development of skills through the complete manufacturing process, and the production / product cells. Maintaining and developing accurate systems and procedures. Ensuring engineering masters and works orders accurately reflect the approved parts consumed. Identification of low stock / shortages. Maintain a high standard of 5’s workplace organisation. Continuous improvement / elimination of waste, through ‘Lean Manufacturing techniques / tools’. Working as a team to achieve customer quality, delivery, cost and innovation requirements. Striving to meet performance requirements for accidents / incidents, internal quality defects, cell productivity / utilisation, overall stock accuracy and WIP (flow line adherence). Ensuring company procedures are complied with. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation. 4 Qualifications & Experience: · Experience in a similar hands on Assembly role; - Manufacturing experience within the automotive industry would be advantageous. · Computer skills to include the use of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook; · A good communicator at all levels within the business as well as with customers is fundamental therefore must have a high standard of spoken and written English. 5 Characteristics: · Team Player; · Good Attention to detail; · Flexible approach to working hours.
