Manufacturing Technician / Basildon / £25 to £30 per hour We are recruiting on behalf of a leading defence and aerospace company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive innovation in the industry. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Basildon. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Electro-Mechanical Assembly and will be well-versed in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build. As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and assembly of electrical and mechanical systems. This is an initial 6 month contract position (inside IR35) with the opportunity for this to extend/become permanent. Key Responsibilities: Utilise your experience in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build to assemble intricate electro-mechanical systems. Work within a Defence/Aerospace environment to meet the demanding requirements of their products. Adhere to IPC J-STD standards during soldering processes to ensure the integrity of assemblies. Manufacture cable, wire, and harness assemblies to IPC 620 guidelines, paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision and quality. Accurately interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams to assemble components and systems according to specifications. Work with the quality team to address any non-conformance issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and designers, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems. The ideal candidate will have: Experience as an assembly technician in a manufacturing environment Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Applicants must be prepared to work as part of a team and be able to work unsupervised at times. Must be a UK national, willing to undertake security vetting to SC level.
