Our client, a leading entity in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Composites Department on a permanent night shift basis. This role is pivotal within the manufacturing process, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Manage performance against agreed goals, accountable for quality, on-time delivery, and budget. Facilitate elements of manufacturing engineering, such as process planning, tooling, and lean methodologies. Generate internal engineering instructions to enable manufacturing and control costs/quality within the engineering team. Understand and liaise with customers to support internal and external needs. Support New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and equipment upgrades from purchase to commissioning. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from Design for Manufacture (DFM) perspective and operational performance. Identify tooling needs and support tool design from concept to final design. Conduct cost/benefit analysis for changes to processes or equipment. Ensure processes meet EHS requirements and support lead EHS projects. Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation. Track and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues. Utilise lean-manufacturing principles to improve process capability, quality, and capacity. Lead and support training activities within the manufacturing environment. Prioritise workload and project planning to support customer needs. Participate and lead local and site-wide initiatives. Job Requirements: Essential Degree or HNC in Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience. Leadership skills, including coaching and team engagement. Detailed knowledge of composite manufacturing processes. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including stakeholder management. Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and achieve results. Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail. Highly effective problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Desirable Project management skills. Positive approach to challenging situations. Six Sigma Green Belt trained and certified. Experience using laser projection software/hardware for composite manufacturing. Prepared to travel within the UK and overseas to meet customers or suppliers. Prepared to work on shift if required. Benefits: Permanent night shift position.
