The successful engineer will be responsible for supporting the introduction and development of new projects, design changes, and current production improvements for both new and existing customers. Commutable from: Coventry, Nuneaton, Leamington Spa, Warwick Salary: £ Negotiable + an excellent set of benefits including: Employer Pension Contribution with Life Assurance Ongoing support for professional development and further education Employee Assistance Programme Excellent career progression and working on state-of-the-art technology making a positive contribution to carbon reduction 25 days Annual Leave + 8 Public Holidays The Role The Manufacturing Engineer will develop improvements from an Engineering & factory floor perspective and reflect these into new process concepts as part of the RFQ and development process. You will develop process concepts and mature throughout the project, delivering effective standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and establish process cycle time estimates & understand effects on capacity of new and existing equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer will develop layout concepts reflecting lean thinking and lessons learnt. Support the Planning engineer in all milestone activity (design reviews, build events, etc). You will support final engineering implementation ensuring that all key manufacturing engineering deliverables are achieved (cycle time, OEE, safety approval, etc). Other responsibilities are to ensure Production sign-off new equipment / modifications against target deliverables and lead improvement activities such as Scrap Reduction, OEE improvement, 8D resolution and Poke Yoke activities. You will stringently follow adhere to all Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) procedures, processes and challenge unsafe acts and behaviours, including reporting all incidents, hazards, near misses to minimise / eliminate the risk of potential further incidents occurring. The Person The successful candidate for the role of Manufacturing Engineer will ideally possess a qualification within a STEM discipline such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Mathematics, technology, or Science related and be conscientious, enthusiastic, results orientated, and self-motivated in your work. Previous experience in fast-paced, high quality manufacturing environments such as Automotive or similar sector is hugely beneficial for the role in addition to good planning and organisational skills - to support delivery of new equipment Engineer will have to take direct ownership of key project aspects. Previous experience in supporting new process and related NPI activities is highly desired for the role in addition to familiarity with processes such as FMEA. You will possess the ability to work in/lead a team will be essential including multi-functional teams including engineering, commercial, IT and production.
