Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Shop Floor Location: Hamburg Type: Permanent The Manufacturing Engineer will own end-to-end manufacturing processes for high-precision CNC components, from feasibility through to stable serial production, with a strong focus on day-to-day shop floor performance. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, production and customer delivery, ensuring processes are robust, repeatable and efficient in a live manufacturing environment. As part of a small, early-stage team, you will combine process engineering with hands-on production oversight, supporting everything from new part introduction through to ongoing quality and output. Responsibilities for the Manufacutring Engineer * Develop, implement and optimise CNC manufacturing processes for precision components * Lead new part introduction from feasibility and process planning through to production readiness * Own day-to-day production performance, ensuring output, quality and efficiency targets are met * Create and maintain work instructions, fixturing concepts and inspection plans * Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production or quality issues * Work closely with CAM and machining teams to refine tooling strategies and reduce cycle times * Build and maintain a compliant quality management framework aligned to recognised standards * Act as a technical interface between the shop floor and customers, providing DFM input where required * Support integration of digital manufacturing systems for data capture, traceability and scheduling * Standardise processes and documentation to enable replication across multiple sites * Contribute to factory setup, including layout, inspection capability and production infrastructure Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer * Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering * Experience within CNC machining or production engineering environments * Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and tolerances * Experience working with CAD/CAM systems and complex engineering drawings * Ability to interpret GD&T and apply it in a production context * Structured, analytical and capable of working independently * Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment with limited established processes It will be desirable for the Manufacturing Engineer to have * Experience within aerospace, defence or other regulated manufacturing environments * Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. EN 9100 / AS9100) * Experience with FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma or similar methodologies * Exposure to MES or digital manufacturing systems * Interest in automation, robotics or data-driven manufacturing Benefits for the Manufacturing Engineer * Central role in establishing and running production within a scaling manufacturing environment * Direct influence over processes that will be deployed across multiple sites * Exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and automation * Work on complex, high-value engineering components * Equity or long-term incentive opportunities (where applicable) * High-performance, hands-on environment focused on continuous improvement
