Morson are on the look-out for a number of Manufacturing Engineers for our client. Role Purpose Define the most efficient manufacturing system for the product. Translate design definition, product change data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions and bills of material in the enterprise resource planning system. Thus facilitate materials ordering, assembly build and certification of product in line with customer and regulatory authority requirements. Key Responsibilities • Responsible for the translation of Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions for manufacturing assemblies or product to customer and regulatory authority requirements. • Responsible to configure the design, quality& regulatory standards into a manufacturing system specifying machine requirements, layout, operator equipment, tooling requirements, capital equipment, inspection & certification requirements. System to be optimised to ensure industrial certainty and optimise long term manufacturing costs. • Accountable for the definition & maintenance of parts and structural assemblies purchase condition of supply. • Responsible for supporting Continuous Improvement to achieve significant productivity and quality improvements by: - Analysing and eliminating waste (seven wastes). - Developing and implementing production smoothing methods and Kanban systems. - Identifying and implementing methods to reduce set-up and overall cycle times. - Effective use of problem solving tools and techniques. • Responsible for the translation of quality standards into industrial requirements and processes to ensure manufacturing certainty and optimise long term manufacturing costs. • Responsible for manipulating CAD data to support work activities . • Key member of MRB team providing engineering instructions relating to rework, scrap and prevention of future non-conforming products. • Define & implement visible controls and business support systems in order to demonstrate effective management and control. • Instructing operators and liaising with design and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance. • Working towards achievement of Approved Signatory status and compiling evidence /Log Book as evidence of critical review of design to ensure manufacturability of product utilising using efficient methods and machinery. • Responsible for provision of engineering/manufacturing support to external customers and contractors. • Assisting with product audits, identifying and implementing corrective actions. • Assisting with the close out of customer non-conformances. • Work closely with Design to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and quality improvements. Knowledge, Skills and Experience • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent experience in a related discipline. • Have 2 years relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment
