Due to our continued expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced LCV Technician/Mechanic to join our team. Based in our workshop at our Skelmersdale site, you will play a key role in mechanic services for our fleet clients, sourced from our meticulously dismantled vehicles. This role is ideal for a highly skilled mechanic who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of workmanship and safety when fitting engines, contributing to the seamless operation of our fleet services. Responsibilities Include: Install engines in fleet vehicles, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. Perform diagnostic checks and post-installation testing to ensure optimal performance. Identify and troubleshoot any issues during the fitting process. Collaborate with the Supply Chain and Fleet teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of jobs. Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent on each job. Ensure all work complies with legal requirements and company standards. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles as required. Support the team in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment. Communicate effectively with fleet customers to provide updates and ensure their satisfaction. Assist in training junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.What we need from you: Essential Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong focus on engine fitting and diagnostics. Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Valid UK driving license.Desirable Previous experience working with vehicles. Familiarity with recycled or second-hand vehicle parts.
