Job description & Person Specification We are looking for an ambitious person to join our team as Warehouse shift Manager on our late shift (2pm to 10pm) This is a middle management role reporting directly to the Head of Warehouse Operations. The responsibility to manage the warehouse during the Mid & Late shifts would come under this role. We are looking for an individual to drive for results and exceed goals successfully. The BGA distribution centre carries over 30,000 SKU`s and distributes to over 60 countries. It offers both next day shipment and bulk loads across the world. Our ideal candidate should have the ambition, skills and experience to manage a modern fast paced and high-volume warehouse through the Next day and bulk Export departments Main duties and responsibilities: * Leading the teams to achieve all their targets on a daily basis * Efficient resource planning between departments throughout the shift * Manage the Next day Track & Export Teams. * Organise daily/weekly workforce briefings with the other managers to ensure direct reports and associates understand company expectations. * Ensure all work instructions, H&S and Safe Systems of work are complied with, with support from site QEHS Manager to deliver a culture of safety and safe working practices. * All accidents/incidents to be fully investigated and concluded with robust actions * Ensure warehouse cleanliness measures are implemented and enforced. * Ensure that all direct reports have annual appraisals and reviews and that training needs are identified and training plans implemented. * Manage training plans to ensure all warehouse roles have competent operators. * Implementation of Lean processes. * Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analysing process workflow, manning and space requirements to complete the daily activities. Criteria Training & Experience Essential * Vocational training and expertise including Health and Safety and MHE * Demonstrable experience of working as a successful Warehouse Shift Manager ( or in a warehouse environment) * Experience leading multi-disciplinary Teams within a warehouse * IT skills including MS Word and Excel * Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a Warehouse Desirable * Training in Logistics * Understanding of the Automotive aftermarket sector Knowledge & Personal Skills Essential * Excellent oral and written communication skills * People management skills * Managing Processes * Planning and organising skills * Analytical ability * The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Problem solving skills * Ability to work at a strategic level Other Job related Requirements Essential * Eligible to work in UK * Deputising for the Head of Warehouse Operations * Willing to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role Benefits: Workplace pension, On-site parking, Free tea and coffee, Service gifts for 5,10,15 plus, Long service holiday increases years.
