JOB TITLE: Improver Technician DEPARTMENT: Generator REPORTS TO: Workshop Supervisor LOCATION: Southend JOB PURPOSE: The Improver Technician will work in the Generator and pressurization shop workshop, initially performing cleaning duties and gradually advancing to fault finding, repair, and reassembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products after extensive training. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 1. Carry out cleaning duties on all products. 2. Assist the supervisor with product-related tasks, including weighing and accurately recording results. 3. Undergo training on Generator overheat detectors and similar duties. 4. Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures. 5. Establish and maintain a legally compliant and safe working environment, conducting risk assessments as required. 6. Understand and meet/exceed customer needs. 7. With experience and extensive training: - Conduct tests, fault finding, repairs, and reassembly of products according to original manufacturers' manuals and instructions. - Prepare workshop reports and material reviews for purchasing and commercial departments to create customer estimates. 8. Perform any other duties within capabilities as directed by the Company. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1. Some electrical and mechanical experience required, such as working on cars, bikes, or boats. 2. Ability to lift heavy objects. 3. Excellent mechanical skills. 4. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. 5. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with business systems and procedures. 6. Capability to interpret manuals and record inspection findings. 7. Strong planning and organization skills. 8. Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills. 9. Safety-conscious with a high level of attention to detail
