Order Ref: 55822 Position Title: HV Battery EDS Engineer Duration: 12 Month Rolling Contract Location: Dunton, Essex Division: Product Development Position Description: The role is a lead D&R engineer for High Voltage (HV) battery EDS to ensure product development deliverables / targets and program attribute targets are met and maintained for EU led battery unit programs R&Rs include the following: Support all GPDS deliverables for HV battery EDS and manage engineering deliverables for QCWF (Quality Cost Weight Function) Manage supplier timing for HV battery EDS and ensure quality parts on time for both prototype and launch build phases. Complete GPDS quality deliverables, including FMEA and robustness analysis, quality history and lessons learned. Ensure HV battery components / systems meet system and vehicle level functional and attribute targets. Skills Required: Specify DV test and validation requirements for inclusion in component, battery unit and vehicle level DVP's, support DV planning and execution. Participate in battery unit component and systems design reviews as required. Interface with US EPE core team, unit team, CAD team, CAE team, component suppliers as required. Manage releasing and change management via WERS and FEDE BOM. Track key open items / issues, develop, and implement action/resolution plans in collaboration with EPE Engineering functional areas and x-functional teams to resolve. Track open issues via AIMS & Concerns and support LQOS during launch. Lead team of 4 and actively support program sourcing strategies in line with Purchasing, Finance and Program timing needs Lead HV battery EDS for all gateways and engineering milestones including engineering deliverable reviews with FNA Core Technical Specialists Major responsibilities listed do not necessarily include a description of all essential and non-essential position responsibilities. Experience Required: Skills Required Qualifications and Skills Required - Educated to degree level in suitable Engineering remit (Electrical is preferred) Knowledge of current EV technologies and components desirable Knowledge of battery / power electronics related experience desirable. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute technically challenging projects working cross functionally. Working knowledge of: TeamCentre (view / modify) and CAD model reviews, the Clients' engineering systems and processes, GPDS, Managing engineering deliverables, Bill of Material tracking and reporting, Financial control and reporting Education Required: Electrified powertrain key components and systems Some experience of EDS design and DT process is desirable Some experience / knowledge of tolerance stacks, DVA / VSA is desirable. An understanding of CAE processes FE etc. is desirable Demonstrable experience of working independently. Ability to quickly obtain and grow knowledge in a rapidly developing technology. Good working knowledge of GPDS process Strong oral and written communication skills Self-motivated with excellent team building and leadership skills Must have valid UK or EU driving licence.
