Position Title: HV Battery Design Engineer Duration: Contract Location: Solihull Contechs are recruiting on behalf of their client, who are known for manufacturing luxury hand-crafted motorcycles. They are looking for a HV Battery Design Engineer to join their expanding team on a contract basis. The role will be based in Solihull and offers hybrid working. Job Description As a HV Battery Design Engineer your main responsibilities will be: Understanding the requirements across the product range that must be considered in the development of new battery modules for use on the motorcycle. Creating, agreeing, and maintaining standard specification documents (environmental/thermal/EMC/electrical etc) that can be used to ensure all selected components are suitable. Creating and reviewing electrical hardware specifications (inputs/outputs etc) for the development of new components. Creating and assessing thermal/cooling strategies of the battery system. Validating various mechanical and electrical attributes in the design through simulation methods Working with the testing lead to create test and validation procedures for all new and existing components.Qualifications / Skills required Experience in designing and developing battery systems including battery topologies, BMS PCB specifications, and drawings. Experience in the following, HV safety and requirements, HV system and component selection and Busbar design. Cell selection/Supplier liaison.
