Job Title: Higher Apprentice Mechanical / Electrical Location(s): Broughton Summary of Role: An exciting opportunity to become a skilled designer within Raytheon's Airborne Solutions. The first year apprenticeship will be based full time in college Coleg Cambria completing the compulsory key skills of an apprenticeship. Years two and three are based in Raytheon design office in Broughton learning from the wealth of experienced engineers and contributing and having ownership to produce solutions to real world customer issues. Learning is made up of work based projects with day release to college. On completion of the third year the candidate will have a foundation degree in engineering and a level 4 NVQ extended diploma. Possibility for further study to full degree level within the third year or through future development plans. Candidate Requirements: Essential: · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to show your own initiative. · Good problem solving abilities. · Good team working skills , ability to take a proactive approach to dealing with day to day tasks · Attention to detail, . · Customer focus, aware of deadlines and good time management. · Ability to gather and collate information · Ability to work under own initiative, to take the lead of your own requirements within the project. Eligible for SC security clearance (RSL will sponsor) Desirable: · Experience with Catia V5 / Solidworks / Creo and Autocad or other cad packages. · Drafting experience. · Knowledge of systems in an aerospace environment - such as avionics, electrical power and mechanical, fabrication and machining. Entry requirements · Two A Levels to include grade B or above in maths and grade C and above Physics. · Six GCSEs Grade C or four which should include Maths, English, Science (core and additional) · Or an engineering level 3 qualification at triple distinction grade can be accepted as an alternative to A levels and equivalent GCSE qualifications will be considered
