HGV Workshop Manager c£40,000.00 - £45,000 DOE Manchester 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 8 am to 12 pm (flexibility to work over if and when required) The Company: Our client, LC Vehicle Hire, is a well-established and reputable specialist in commercial vehicle rental, trading for over 50 years. They have 6 rental depots in the North and South of England with fully equipped maintenance workshops, operating approximately 2,000 vehicles throughout the UK, half of these being above 3.5 tons. The Person: Our client is looking for a forward-thinking person who is from a technical maintenance HGV background that has experience of controlling a busy Workshop. Your role will be to oversee and manage the daily activities of their 24-hour workshop, based in Salford, Manchester. HGV Qualifications would be an obvious advantage however finding someone whom is an experienced Workshop Manager that has the ability to deliver Safety, Quality and Productivity is the main goal. The successful candidate will be someone who’s focal point is on efficiencies, adhering to H&S procedures and that can keep the HGV Technicians focused and productive at all times, whilst leading by example. A full UK driving licence is required and ideally a HGV licence, however this is not essential. If you have any experience in change-management this would also be beneficial Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsibility for a large fleet of approx. 400 of Specialist Commercial HGV Vehicles * Ensuring that all vehicles are safe and legally compliant at all times * Managing a team of technicians split over 3 shifts * Day to day housekeeping and workshop health and safety * Booking MOT slots and arranging vehicles into the workshop for MOT preparation * Checking of invoices for correct payments and discounts * Ensuring company documentation relating to service/repair reporting is completed correctly and on time * Booking-out depot based vehicles into the dealer for overnight inspections * Chasing dealers for inspection paperwork to ensure all customer paperwork is compliant * Follow company HR/employment procedures, including the recruitment of staff, inducting new staff effectively and dealing with performance issues when required Additional Info: * 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays, holidays will increase by an additional day every 2 years of service, up to a maximum of 25 days * Contributory pension scheme and Death in Service pay-out: two times annual salary * Free parking * Onsite kitchen facilities and in walking distance of local amenities
