HGV TECHNICIANS Ford and Slater are one the UK’s largest DAF Truck dealers group with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 930 staff whilst remaining a family run business. We are currently recruiting for HGV Technicians at our DAF Trucks Depot's in Birtley, Chesterfield, Corby, Coventry, King's Lynn, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, Newark, Norwich, Peterborough, Rugby, Sheffield, Spalding, Stockton-on-Tees, Wisbech. What we offer as an HGV Technician: * Competitive hourly rate (based on experience and working pattern) * Overtime at premium rates * Excellent DAF training and development opportunities * HGV driving license training after a qualifying period * 22 days holiday (excluding statutory), rising to 25 days after 5 years * Employee of the Month competition * Employee Assistance Program * Career progression opportunities * Pension * Death in Service Life Insurance Scheme * Cycle to work scheme Who we're looking for as an HGV Technician: * Experience as a Technician/Mechanic in HGV, Commercial Vehicle, LGV, PSV, Heavy Plant, Car, or a related sector * Light Commercial or Car Mechanics wanting to transition to HGV Technician * Recognized apprenticeship or training program * Level 3 qualification (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent) in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Repair * Excellent technical knowledge and fault diagnosis skills * Ability to carry out safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs * Participation in breakdowns * Accurate completion of job cards and service records * Basic computer literacy * Full UK driving license Responsibilities (but not limited to): * Service and maintenance * Perform safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOTs * Fault diagnostics * Ensure repairs follow manufacturer procedures * Road test vehicles as required Various shift patterns depending on location.
