Questech Recruitment Ltd Description Job Title: HGV Technician Duties: - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues - Use schematics and technical manuals to identify and resolve problems - Utilize power tools and hand tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks - Fabricate and weld components as needed - Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards - Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance - Perform heavy lifting as required for repairs and maintenance Skills: - Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude - Proficient in using hand tools and power tools - Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals - Experience with electrical systems in HGVs - Welding and fabrication skills - Physical strength to perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks - Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software for troubleshooting - Knowledge of hydraulic systems in HGVs - Ability to dig, if necessary, for repairs or maintenance Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
