HGV Technician/ Fitter (Hydraulics / Pneumatics / Welding) Location: Dumfries Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 7am-12pm Salary: £45,240 per year About the Role My client is a well-established and growing HGV Engineering business with over 40 years industry experience. They are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Fitter/Technician to join their busy Dumfries depot. This is a days-based role with no engine work required, ideal for a fitter with strong mechanical and fabrication skills who enjoys hands-on workshop work. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of HGV, Trailers, Tippers and Truck Mounted Cranes. Key Responsibilities for the HGV Fitter/Technician Maintenance and repair of HGV`, Tippers, Trailers, Miunted Cranes and ancillary equipment Working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs (MIG / arc) Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults (non-engine related) Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment Complying with health & safety procedures at all times Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company's ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification To have a good understanding of vehicle mechanical interfaces and repairs of vehicle components. To be able to install / repair hydraulic systems To overhaul of raft components. To be able to understand schematic drawings.
