Crane / HGV Fitter / Mechanic Full-time, Permanent Location: Surrey Our client is currently recruiting for a Crane / HGV / Mechanic Fitter to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience of maintaining Mobile Cranes, HGV’s, or Plant machinery with a high level of health & safety. You will be a team player, a good communicator, open to learning and have the ability to learn and apply technical knowledge. Overall Purpose: The Crane Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the cranes and lifting equipment on site and assisting the maintenance department. Key Duties: * The job holder will do this by taking ownership of all crane and lifting related activities including planned preventative and reactive (breakdown) repairs on site cranes and lifting equipment, routine inspections, maintenance, schedules, records and compliance. * Provide feedback for improvements, communicate necessary and relevant information to management, maintenance and operational personnel whilst developing good working relationships with colleagues and contractors. * Ensure all tasks are completed and meet Health and Safety guidelines and are maintained to the highest standard leading by example in all aspects of the role. * Assist with preventative maintenance and servicing for all cranes. * Properly maintain materials, tools, and equipment. * Assist in cleaning and keeping the mechanical workshops and surrounds tidy. * Assists with programming the service schedule for all depot fleet. * Assists with maintaining daily records of plant, labour and materials used. * Assists with the planning and procurement of materials and consumables as required. * Perform servicing and repairs on cranes within the workshop. * Accurately maintain service records for each crane detailing all faults, repairs, service dates etc. * Provide technical advice to ensure shortest possible downtime for vehicles. * Maintain health and safety standards at all times. * Schedule machine/ vehicle time with the operations department in order to carry out repairs and/or maintenance to equipment. * Secure necessary materials and parts for the work in good time, ordering/ chasing from suppliers if necessary. * Undertake other duties that management may reasonably request Experience Required: * Experience of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components * Previous experience in a manufacturing / maintenance * Will be able to work under pressure and have strong oral and written communication skills, as the role requires the ability to communicate with management, staff, subcontractors, and clients at all levels. * Manage time and information effectively, ability to prioritise tasks * Self-Driven, will be able to work unsupervised, high level of motivation and enthusiasm to deliver at the highest level The Package: * Salary DOE * Overtime hours available * Pension Contribution * 23 holidays + bank holidays
