HGV Class-1 Driver – Covered Car Transporter Location: Northampton (Sywell) Northamptonshire Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday with occasional overtime/overnights Salary: £38,000 basic + overtime and nights-out allowance (typical earnings circa £45,000) Contract Type: Permanent We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established vehicle delivery company in the Northampton area. Run by industry experts, the company is growing steadily and provides a premium vehicle delivery service for prestige motor vehicles across the UK and Europe (European trips optional). The Role The successful candidate will deliver high-end vehicles using enclosed car transporters. Duties include: * Safely loading and securing vehicles for transport. * Delivering vehicles to customers, dealerships, and businesses on time. * Conducting written and digital handovers for both the customer and company. * Acting as a brand ambassador by providing exceptional customer service and making “New Car Day” a memorable experience. * Following tachograph and driver’s hours regulations. * Complete written and digital vehicle handovers for both the customer and the company. This is a customer-facing role, requiring attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent communication skills. Requirements * Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence, CPC, and Tacho Card. * Minimum of 1 year’s HGV driving experience (maximum 6 penalty points for minor offences). * Willingness to undergo a DBS check and pass drug and alcohol testing. * Ability to confidently use technology (training provided for operating high-tech EVs). * Presentable appearance and a customer-first attitude. Previous experience as a Class 1 Car Transporter Driver is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
