Health, Safety, and Environment Assistant Location: Harlow  Job Type: Part-time (3 days a week, excluding Fridays)  Salary: £14.50 per hour Hours: 8am – 4:45pm Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment Assistant to join our client’s team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with a wide range of health, safety, and environmental regulations. This includes managing systems, conducting workplace inspections, and contributing to the overall safety culture within the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Compliance Management: Maintain and update systems and databases to ensure comprehensive compliance with health and safety regulations, including accident and incident reporting, audit results, and action plan tracking. Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections and observe working practices to identify potential hazards. Reporting: Produce detailed health and safety reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, incidents, and compliance status. Training Coordination: Coordinate and administer health and safety training programs, ensuring accurate record-keeping and collaboration with HR and Quality Management Teams. Safety Materials: Assist in the creation, distribution, and delivery of safety materials such as posters, newsletters, and toolbox talks. Procedure Development: Support the development and revision of health and safety procedures as directed by the Health and Safety Manager. Emergency Response: Provide administrative support for emergency response strategies, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid readiness. Incident Investigation: Ensure all accidents and near misses are properly recorded and investigated, with corrective actions implemented to prevent recurrence. Consultation & Coordination: Work with appointed H&S consultants to schedule and manage risk assessments, fire risk assessments, audits, and other surveys. Regulatory Follow-up: Collaborate with departments to address any actions required after inspections by regulatory bodies such as the Health & Safety Executive or Environment Agency. Legislative Monitoring: Monitor and interpret legislative updates related to health, safety, and environment, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant laws. Additional Duties: Perform any other health, safety, or environmental tasks as deemed appropriate.   Person Specification: Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, such as a Safety Assistant or Advisor. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety with Technical IOSH membership as a minimum. Excellent report writing skills with strong attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with essential Excel skills. Capable of conducting training sessions and presenting information clearly and effectively. Proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to maintaining a high level of safety.   Please enquire within
