Purpose of role and accountabilities: To identify and implement a commodity management strategy, implement best practice improvements to purchasing function at all Gardner sites (i.e. cost reduction opportunities, supplier rationalisation/selection processes, long term agreements, internal processes) which contribute to improved supply chain performance. * Create & manage a team of Commodity Managers/Supplier Development Managers * Coordinates all volume purchase agreement negotiations in primary areas of responsibility * Coordinates the development & execution of volume purchase agreements. * Ensure group & supplier contract adherence (with support from central commercial/legal team) * Negotiates component & product pricing to achieve cost saving targets. * Develop further network of suppliers with large focus in India & China * Coordinates negotiation strategies and maintains contact with key supplier personnel at all times. * Maintain current knowledge of market trends, market conditions & recommends changes in supply chain strategies & tactics based on such knowledge. * Manages the Supply Chain through any NPI process in conjunction with Programme Management team Core skills/attributes needed: * This position requires someone who has a Sourcing/Purchasing history, a strategic thinker that can influence and implement change in a dynamic environment. * Capable user of Microsoft software including Teams, Sharepoint, Excel, Powerpoint and Project * An understanding of computerised MRP systems preferred. * Experience/knowledge within the Aerospace industry preferred. * Must hold a valid driving licence * Must hold a valid passport for overseas travel Behaviour and Communication - This position requires the ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Requires thoroughness, resourcefulness, adaptability to shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking. Also requires an eye for detail. The candidate must demonstrate accountability, and dependability. The candidate must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organization skills. Requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to analyse and resolve problems at all levels. This individual will be required to interact across all disciplines within the organization and must possess the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
