Group Quality Director £ Highly Competitive DOE Coventry The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Quality Director for a leading group of companies based in Coventry. The primary objective of the role is to build a quality culture and ethos into the DRVN group of businesses. As the Quality Director you will have a deep understanding of the Automotive industry and will play a pivotal role in our organisation's success, by overseeing all products and services meet the expectations of the business and its consumers. You will guarantee the continual compliance of the highest quality standards for products and processes to ensure component/vehicle reliability, consistency, and safety and will lead a team of Quality professionals to support the departments deliverables, ensuring the quality department is fully aligned with the company's strategic goals. Responsibilities Develop and Implement Quality Strategies: Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing Quality strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost, and delivery. Encompass a strategy that delivers value to our customers whilst underpinning the DRVN growth strategy of long-term profitable growth, with a key focus on cost reduction and quality improvement Quality and Warranty: Lead and manage the quality function from new product conception through to warranty analysis to ensure a proactive culture so that customers receive the product to the highest standard of quality possible. Actively lead the reduction of Customer PPMs (Parts Per Million), Warranty, Cost of Quality and in-house scrap, and waste Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Drive any necessary culture change and improvement in business performance to deliver strategic goals. Lead Quality Team: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing quality team.Foster a culture of quality and accountability within the department. Corrective Actions and KPI’s: Ensure that corrective actions are delivered, and non-compliance issues are resolved on time. Report on Quality activities on a regular basis to the Board/Senior Management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators. Ensure Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards. Oversee compliance with quality management systems and coordinate audits. Ensure effective internal and external audits are carried out, as well as assessment and audit of subcontractors to minimise non-value-added activities. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to improve quality and reliability. Conduct regular supplier audits and establish corrective action plans. Drive Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilise quality metrics and data to make informed decisions. Implement systems to monitor and analyse key performance indicators. Customer Satisfaction: Establish and maintain processes to monitor and enhance customer satisfaction. Address customer concerns and implement improvements based on feedback. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to integrate quality processes throughout the product lifecycle. Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. Coordinate with engineering to ensure repeatable manufacture of products while maintaining quality standards. Budget Management: Control and manage the quality department budget. Ensure cost-effective implementation of quality initiatives. Quality Systems: Implement new quality processes and systems where appropriate. Develop the Quality Management System, updating procedures and train team members where required. Essential Skills * Bachelor’s degree in business, Quality Engineering Management, or a qualification within a related and relevant field * Proven ability of working at a director level within an Automotive or Manufacturing Company/OEM * Proven track record of implementing and managing quality systems in the automotive manufacturing sector * Deep knowledge and understanding of ISO9001/IATF16949 and other relevant industry quality standards * Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies * Strong sense of ‘business acumen’ and analytical skills. Ability to analyse and interpret quality metrics and use data-driven insights to make strategic decisions * Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure and demonstrate high organisational skills, whilst meeting deliverables in a fast-paced working environment * Strong leadership and influencing skills, along with excellent stakeholder management and relationship management * Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams with the ability to optimise team performance and development * Experience managing a diverse team of quality professionals with the ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement * Strong interpersonal skills, and communication skills both verbal and written * IT literate – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Must have IDLR/settled Status.
