Our longest standing client is looking to add a Group Purchasing Manager to the business. This business has gone through a transitional phase and now under new ownership is set to thrive, making this role ideal for someone who has transformational experience and the drive to help the business meet and exceed its exciting and ambitious plans ahead. Main Responsibilities Duties will include (though not limited to): * You will lead the development and transformation of our Group and site specific procurement activities, developing the Group Supply Chain Strategy. * Lead Group purchasing power initiatives, special projects, and contract negotiations. * Manage a team of buyers and purchasing staff across our 6 sites. * Address strategic sourcing goals, mitigating risk, issue escalation and resolution. * Understand the Value Chain and challenge materials, specifications, suppliers etc to deliver value improvements. * To purchase a diverse range of goods and services with responsibility for the whole procurement cycle and supply chain process. * To consider and lead Group purchasing power initiatives and terms agreement across all divisions.(Host a weekly Purchasing Group meeting to ensure full communication on any issues, solutions and actions). * Work with Finance to produce an annual Forecast utilising PPV justifying differences based on commodity moves, exchange rates, negotiated contracts and volumes. * Work with other Functions (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, H&S) to ensure that targets (currently OTIF, Non-Compliances and PPV) are achieved. * Receive input from engineering, production and service departments; organise, prioritise, delegate, coordinate and monitor purchasing requirements and source parts on time and on cost. * To manage stock control personnel and work in conjunction with factory managers to ensure availability of stock is maintained and available on time and responsibility for purchased stock levels and general stock integrity. * Planning and risk management of potential variable impacts. * Plan and execute negotiations for both formal tenders and ad-hoc activities ensuring that the Business obtains best value on all its spend. * As the leader in Procurement you will help build and implement key enablers (tools, templates, systems, etc.) to raise team capabilities to deliver best-in-class support to all customers. * Drive continuous improvement and culture change. Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Essential * As an individual you must be self-directed, work with a high sense of urgency and possess the ability to solve problems and collaborate with other disciplines to meet the needs of the Divisions Clean and full valid driving license, * Manufacturing / supply chain related professional qualification (CIPS) (MCIPS). * Experienced Procurement & Supply Chain operational leader (Minimum experience 5 years). * Excellent computer literacy coupled with strong knowledge of working experience of vendor management software MRP/ERP. * Excellent communication skills both oral, written & presentational. * Experienced sourcing and vendor manager. * Excellent negotiation and networking skills. * Proven track record of driving & delivering change. * Strong leadership capabilities. * Proven track record of significant cost reduction. * Capable data analyst * Managing, setting and budget attainment. * Planning and risk management ability. Automotive experience is not essential for this position, but the manufacturing of multi stage builds is. There may also be need the need to travel between sites from time to time.
