With a large, diverse and growing fleet, a first-class Group Fleet Manager is required to take end-to-end responsibility for the management and maintenance of all fleet assets. Reporting to the Group Head of Transport, and as part of the SLT, key responsibilities are as follows:- THE ROLE * Effective leadership of all fleet asset management and maintenance activities to maximise fleet operational performance * Ensure the fleet meets all safety and compliance legislation, including all related documentation in line with UK regulation * Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, customers, suppliers and service partners, driving forward an excellent operational fleet management strategy * Manage the specification, selection and deployment of vehicles to meet the Group’s diverse operational requirements * Own the fleet maintenance budget, taking control of all costs relating to maintenance, repair and up-keep of all HGV assets * Utilise all data at your disposal to ensure fleet operational efficiency and effectiveness is maximised * Drive enhanced fleet efficiency and performance by utilising IT systems, innovation and new technologies THE PERSON The ideal candidate will be a first class Fleet, Transport or Fleet Engineering Manager, perhaps with an engineering qualification, and with a great track record managing a large scale fleet of diverse HGV assets. With a background in a workshop/technical environment, you may currently be operating in a transport and logistics setting, or managing a transport fleet on behalf of a large-scale fleet operator. Of course, your knowledge and expertise in fleet asset management and maintenance, workshop management, fleet engineering, DVSA and ADR, along with the safety and compliance regulations in this arena will be second to none. Utilising data and innovation to drive operational efficiencies and enhanced fleet performance will also be high on your agenda.
