As an integral part of our team, you will contribute to the production of high-quality gears for various applications. Duties of a Gear Cutter: Execute precision gear cutting, planning, and hobbing operations for automotive applications. Set up and operate gear-cutting machines, ensuring adherence to tight tolerances and engineering specifications. Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, managing allocated jobs from the engineering supervisor. Manage workload independently, ensuring timely and accurate production of machined parts. Conduct quality checks on finished gears, splines, or sprockets, maintaining high standards. Troubleshoot and address any issues during the gear-cutting process to ensure optimal results. Collaborate with a team of skilled professionals, promoting a positive and efficient work environment. Skills and experience of a Gear Cutter: Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience in precision engineering. Proven track record in gear cutting, planning, or hobbing, preferably in an automotive setting. Experience with gear-cutting machinery is advantageous. Ability to work unsupervised, demonstrating autonomy and reliability. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. It would be beneficial to the Gear Cutter role if you also had: Strong attention to detail and precision Good communication skills, both written and verbal Access to reliable transport.
