Event Director £50k - £60k (Depending on Experience) Canterbury, Kent Permanent/Full Time Monday to Friday (9am – 5.30pm) / Flexibility required for evening work/setting up Events etc Our client, a successful and dynamic coaching company located in the Canterbury area, are seeking an experienced and creative Event Director to lead the event operations of the company. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful executions of high-profile conferences and workshops. The ideal candidate will need to have a proven track record in managing large-scale events, possess excellent negotiation skills and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail! Duties & Responsibilities: * Developing and implementing comprehensive event strategies for annual conference and other high-profile events. * Providing oversight and strategic direction for all event proposals. * Ensuring marketing efforts resonate with the target audience and support the events vision. * Overseeing budgets for events, ensuring cost effectiveness without the need to compromise on quality. * Negotiating contracts with third-party vendors, hotels and service providers, securing the best rates and services. * Overseeing on-site event execution, ensuring seamless operations and handling any issues that arise promptly and efficiently. * Conducting thorough post-event evaluations, analysing feedback and performance data, to help improve future events. * You will be the primary point of contact for all event-related communications with stakeholders, ensuring clear, consistent and effective dialogue. * You will have KPIs to achieve such as Event Attendance/Budget Adherence/Customer Satisfaction + more. Your Background & Skill: * Experience in an Events role (with significant experience in large-scale conferences). * Minimum of 7-10 years in Event Management. * Excellent communication skills with a clear speaking voice. * Strong commercial skills, with the ability to negotiate and improve budgets. * Be familiar with any event industry trends (Technologies/Social Media). * Detail-orientated, proactive and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. * Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. * A creative thinker and problem-solver, with the ability to find solutions. * Bachelor’s degree is preferred (in Event Management / Hospitality / Business / or a related field).
