Environmental Test Engineer Working Pattern: On-site, 5 days per week Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK National with British citizenship The Opportunity My Client is offering a fantastic opportunity to work in a UKAS / ISO 17025 accredited environmental test laboratory, supporting a wide range of projects across our entire product portfolio. As part of the Environmental Engineering & Facilities team, you’ll test the company's products under real-world extreme conditions — including temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration — helping to ensure our systems are safe, robust, and fit for service. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team, solving complex engineering problems and contributing to both design verification and in-service surveillance activities. What they need you to do. * Plan and execute environmental tests against customer requirements * Simulate extreme operational environments using specialist test equipment * Analyse data, review documentation, and produce test reports * Support technical reviews with customers and partners * Apply standards such as DEF STAN, MIL-STD-810, STANAG, and AECTP (Occasional travel to Henlow required) What they are looking for. * HNC / HND / Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline * Strong understanding of mechanical structures and analysis * Hands-on experience with instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges) * Methodical, safety-conscious, and self-motivated approach Desirable: Experience with vibration control systems (e.g. LMS), project delivery, or driving technical improvements
