Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager Salary: up to £55,000 per annum dependent upon experience Location: Ramsgate, Kent Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to be based at their site in Ramsgate. Established more than 60 years ago, the company employ more than 21,000 employees in 35 different countries. They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment. The successful candidate will be based at the Ramsgate site but will oversee the EHS functions across their sites in Ramsgate, Stansted and Luton. Main Responsibilities: Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: * Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and environmental regulations * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ISO standards * Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections Risk Management: * Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses * Develop and implement control measures to mitigate risks * Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are taken Policy & Procedure Development: * Create and update EHS policies, procedures, and manuals and ensure they are communicated and understood Training & Awareness: * Deliver or coordinate EHS training programs for staff and contractors * Promote a safety culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks * Ensure new employees receive EHS inductions Monitoring & Reporting: * Track and report on EHS performance metrics * Maintain records of accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents * Use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement Site & Project Support: * Conduct site inspections and safety audits * Support engineering teams in designing for safety and sustainability * Ensure safe practices during construction, maintenance, and operations Environmental Management: * Manage waste disposal, pollution control, and resource conservation * Oversee environmental impact assessments for projects * Drive initiatives to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint Health Surveillance & Monitoring: * Implement and manage health surveillance for employees * Monitor for early signs of work-related ill health Risk Assessment for Health Hazards: * Identify and assess occupational health risks * Ensure COSHH assessments are up to date and controls are in place Benefits: - Basic salary up to £55,000 dependent upon experience - Overtime available at x 1.5 normal rate during the week/ x 2 normal rate at weekends - Company pension (6% employer/ 3% employee) - Salary sacrifice twice per year - 25 days Annual Leave (increases to 26 after 10 years’ service) plus Bank holidays - Westfield health allowance towards services of employee’s choosing - Career progression available and qualifications/ training funded by company - Annual pay reviews as standard/ additional pay reviews through progression - Free onsite parking - Life Assurance x 4 salary - Monthly Wellness Breakfast - Employee assistance programme - Company days out - Charity events - Employee discount scheme through pension provider (Aon) - Long Service Awards - Vouchers to reward non sickness - Christmas vouchers - Referral bonus (£1,000) About You: * Previous experience in an EHS Management role * Aerospace sector experience is preferred but other sectors will be considered * Up to date compliance knowledge in UK HSE legislation and environmental regulations * Previous experience managing external audits and inspections About Aeropeople: Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team… Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
