Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar. What will I be doing? Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead a team of production & continuous improvement engineers supporting direct & indirect activities. The purpose of this role is to manage and facilitate engineering & continuous improvement activities and initiatives across the organisation with accountability for strategy design, project implementation, review and communication of benefits. Developing enhanced process improvements to manage operational non conformance actions & creation of data analysis to combat trends. Principal Accountabilities: *Drive and lead an environment of continuous improvement within the organization. *Overall accountability for engineering projects, non conformance analysis & corrective action. *Overall accountability for continuous improvement project identification, prioritisation, progress monitoring, tracking of results and reporting of findings across the organisation (including KPI reporting to Division). *Management responsibilities for the production engineering & continuous Improvement Team and related activities. *Concession & technical deviation accountability, liaising with the relevant OEM for product. *Ensure all completed continuous improvement projects are embedded and maintained. *Direct managerial responsibility for Green Belt activity. *Coaching and mentoring of Green Belt trainees and project completion. *Actively engage with peers internally and across the Group to ensure best practice implementation. *Control overhead budget spend. *Develop and maintain strong working relationship with cross-functional teams working collaboratively to drive improvement programs. *Coaching and mentoring of managers and leaders on QRQC practices. *Develop and drive training to develop Lean Sigma culture across the organisation. What do you need from me? This role requires somebody with a technical background and a solid understanding of engineering and production processes. It could suit somebody who understands the principles of Continuous Improvement and is looking to move into a more Continuous Improvement specialist role. *Certified green Belt required. *Certified Black Belt desirable. *Production engineering experience & knowledge. *At least 2 or more years of Continuous Improvement experience in a management/leadership role, preferably in a production orientated environment. *Experience in a similar role, ideally within an aerospace / AS9001 environment, but other process driven (e.g. automotive) can be considered. *Experience of working at all levels including both internal & external customers. *Confident, driven, an excellent communicator with a hands on approach. *Not afraid to challenge the norm. *Strong statistical and analytical skills.
