Recruit Central are seeking a Engine Test Lab- Automation Engineer based within a a well-established company based in Peterborough. Within this role you will get the opportunity to develop in either side of your development and software skills. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for developing, testing and deploying new features and functions within out test automation platforms You will triage, troubleshoot and address to breakdowns and issues that arise You will work closely within a global team comprised of Product Owners, Software Architects, System Integration Engineers, Automation Developers and Testers You will have the opportunity to work with a range of industry leading Automation and Data Acquisition tools including products from leading automotive suppliers such as FEV (Morphee), AVL (Lynx, Puma) and Vector (CANape) Key Skills: Passion for automation and commitment to learn/grow capability within the field of automation development Bachelor’s degree in one of the below disciplines (or similar) or equivalent relevant work-related experience Software Development / Engineering Computer Science / Engineering Electrical/Electronic Engineering Mechatronic and/or Robotic Engineering Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to troubleshoot system interaction issues, identify root causes and develop appropriate solutions Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills Strong technical understanding of Electrical, Electronic or Automation systems Some experience with scripting and/or coding in one or more language (Python, C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Batch-script, Bash etc.) and an appetite to further develop scripting and coding ability within the role (with training, Coaching and support!) Desirable: Software Development Experience Experience with automotive test automation platforms and measurement tool Experience working with Engines/Transmissions/Vehicle Electrification Components and Technologies Experience with data analysis tools such as NI-DIAdem or AVL Concerto Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am until 4:45pm, Friday 8:30am until 4:15pm For the first 2 to 3 month it will be fully onsite (for training) which potentially to got 40% remote working.
